Special Election

November 8, 2022

The only thing guaranteed in life is that things will change!

The reapportionment process gave me a County Commission district that would be extremely difficult to have a successful outcome in the November election. The new County Commission district was drawn in a way that about 70% of the area would be new to me, and the percentage of Republican voters is over 65%. Despite those awful numbers, I was prepared to run, because I want to continue to serve Clinton Township residents.

Clinton Township Trustee Laura Cardamone recently resigned from the township board presenting me with a way to continue my service to Clinton Township residents and to continue my work on improving our roads, keeping our water clean and working to make sure the township values the diversity of our residents.

After much consideration I have decided to withdraw from the County Commission race and pursue the opening on the Clinton Township Board.

I will continue to represent the interests of Clinton Township residents as County Commissioner until an appointment or election takes place, or until the end of the year.

I really appreciate the support you have shown me as a Macomb County Commissioner. I hope I can count on your continued support as I seek to continue my service to the community as a Clinton Township Trustee.
